   • The research coordinated grant has started
   • A project coordinator has started. This person will support the activities in the grant.  She starts part-time in Nov and full-time in January
   • Working groups will form around special topics 
     • 5-10 people per working group
     • These groups have been formed by community involvement

     • Working group signup has closed but attend the Dec webinar if you want to get involved.

4. Tripal Updates
   • Tripal v3
     • New release 3.8 coming soon. 
     • Bug fixes for the GFF and OBO loaders.
     • Security fix for editing content by authenticated users
   • Tripal v4
     • Currently working on the Fields/Entity integration with Drupal
       1. Drupal changed how Entities & Fields access the underlying datastore

     • Additional progress: there is a great Chado API contributed by Valentin which we are working to move into core and Data importers (Rish) are making good progress.

5. January Codefest
